2. Two Ways to Walk: Cain and Enoch

A. Cain — Walking in Darkness

“If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”

Jude gives a list of what walking in darkness looks like.

“These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage.”

“They said to you, ‘In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.’”

“It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.”

4. Five Ways to Walk in the Light

Jude also tells us how to walk in the light.

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit,”

“keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.”

1. Build Yourself Up in the Faith

Ways we build ourselves up:

A. Humility

"you thought I was one like yourself.

B. Meditation in the Word

but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:2

C. Songs, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs

“addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,”

D. Laying on of Hands / Gifts

“Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you.”

E. Fellowship and Gathering

“not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another…”

2. Pray in the Holy Spirit

3. Keep Yourself in the Love of God

God is able to keep you from stumbling.
